Mr. Schrier is the Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Indaba. Prior to founding Indaba, Mr. Schrier worked at Farallon Capital Management, L.L.C. from 1998 to 2008 and was elected as a partner in 2002. Prior to Farallon, Mr. Schrier worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the Mergers & Acquisitions Department from 1990 to 1992. From 1992 to 1994, he worked for the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa, ultimately managing the elections research for the African National Congress’s political campaign during that country’s first-ever democratic and non-racial elections.
Mr. Schrier is a member of the Board of Directors of Matriculate, a non-profit organization helping to provide college access to high-achieving, low-income students. He also serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Boston Review, a journal of social and cultural criticism. Mr. Schrier is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Councils at Stanford Law School and Princeton University. He was also the first Chairman of the Board of Directors of the U.S.-based foundation of the African Leadership Academy.
Mr. Schrier earned an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and a J.D. from Stanford Law School. He attended Princeton University where he played football and graduated with an A.B. from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
Mr. Dodge is an Investment Partner of Indaba. Mr. Dodge joined Indaba in 2011 as an Analyst and was elected to Partner at the end of 2013. From 2009 to 2011, Mr. Dodge was an Associate at Sageview Capital, LP where he focused on equity investments across a variety of sectors. Prior to Sageview, he was an Analyst at Sankaty Advisors, LLC, an affiliate of Bain Capital, LLC, where he focused on credit investments.
Mr. Dodge graduated cum laude from Harvard University with an A.B. in Economics.
Mr. Lerner is an Investment Partner of Indaba. Mr. Lerner rejoined Indaba as an Analyst in 2014 following his graduation from business school, was promoted to Investment Principal in 2015 and was elected to Partner at the beginning of 2017. Prior to business school, Mr. Lerner was an Analyst at Indaba from 2010 to 2012. From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Lerner was an Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Lazard Ltd.
Mr. Lerner earned an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and graduated with honors and a perfect grade point average from Stanford University with a B.A. in English where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a recipient of the Robert M. Golden Medal for excellence in the Humanities.
Mr. McConnon is an Investment Partner of Indaba. From 2004 to 2010, Mr. McConnon was a Principal at TPG Capital, LP, where he was involved in the firm’s investment of $1.7 billion in multiple private equity transactions. Mr. McConnon was also a senior member of a team dedicated to TPG Capital’s internal credit investing initiative from late 2007 to mid-2009, a period in which TPG invested over $1.6 billion of equity in a variety of corporate credit instruments from two separate funds. Prior to TPG, he was a Vice President at Bain Capital Partners in its Boston and London offices and an Associate at The Boston Consulting Group in its Toronto office.
Mr. McConnon is a board observer at Mammoth Mountain Holdings on behalf of David Bonderman, a co-founder of TPG. Mr. McConnon was formerly a Director of Sabre Holdings Inc. and Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and a board observer at Norwegian Cruise Lines.
Mr. McConnon earned an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with an A.B. in Social Studies where he played two varsity sports. Mr. McConnon is a citizen of Canada, the United Kingdom and Estonia.
Mr. Tjong is an Investment Partner of Indaba. Mr. Tjong joined Indaba in 2015 as an Investment Principal and was elected to Partner at the beginning of 2017. From 2014 to 2015, Mr. Tjong was a Senior Analyst at Magnolia Road Capital LP. Prior to Magnolia Road Capital, he was a Managing Director at Whippoorwill Associates, Inc. from 2003 to 2014, a Credit Research Analyst at Clearwater Capital Partners, LLC from 2002 to 2003, a Vice President at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. from 2000 to 2002, an Associate at Goldman, Sachs & Co. from 1998 to 2000 and an Investment Banking Analyst at Merrill Lynch International from 1994 to 1996.
Mr. Tjong earned an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and graduated from Erasmus University in the Netherlands with a M.Sc. in Finance and Business Economics. Mr. Tjong is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Mr. Sent is an Investment Principal of Indaba. Mr. Sent joined Indaba in 2015. From 2013 to 2015, Mr. Sent was an Analyst at BlueMountain Capital Management, LLC. Prior to BlueMountain Capital, he was a U.K. Partner and Senior Analyst at Owl Creek Asset Management LLP from 2010 to 2012, a Sector Head (2009 to 2010) and a Senior Analyst (2004 to 2009) at Perry Capital LLC, Head of Research at Primelife Corporation from 2000 to 2002 and an attorney at Mallesons Stephen Jaques from 1999 to 2000.
Mr. Sent earned an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and graduated from Monash University in Australia with Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law (Honors) degrees.
Mr. Prime is a Partner, Idea Generation & Research of Indaba. From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Prime was a manager of retail strategy for the Americas Region of Levi Strauss & Company, where he was the recipient of the Koshland Award, the highest honor employees can receive for performance globally. From 1999 to 2005, Mr. Prime worked at Farallon Capital Management, L.L.C. as an analyst in merger arbitrage, special situations and credit.
Mr. Prime earned an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and graduated from Kenyon College with a B.A. in Economics.
Mr. Walterspiel is a Partner and Head Trader of Indaba. From 2009 to 2011, Mr. Walterspiel was the Head Trader at Falcon Investment Management, LLC. Prior to that, he was an Analyst and Head Trader at Glacier Asset Management from 2006 to 2009, a Trader at Watershed Asset Management, LLC from 2004 to 2006 and a Trader/Junior Portfolio Manager at Thomas Weisel Partners, LLC from 2000 to 2004.
Mr. Walterspiel graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Finance where he was an All-American rugby player.
Mr. Hassan is a Partner, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Indaba. From 2005 to 2011, Mr. Hassan was a Partner of Ernst & Young, LLP, where he advised managers of hedge funds and other private investment funds on operational, structural, tax, accounting, and financial reporting matters. Mr. Hassan joined Ernst & Young, LLP in 1997. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, LLP, Mr. Hassan was a Chartered Accountant in England & Wales with Menzies Chartered Accountants.
Mr. Hassan is a Certified Public Accountant in California, and graduated from the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom with a B.A. (Honours) in Accounting and Finance.
Ms. O’Fallon is the Director of Investor Relations and Business Development of Indaba. Ms. O’Fallon joined Indaba in 2017. From 2015 to 2017, Ms. O’Fallon was the Director of Investor Relations for Archer Capital Management. Prior to that, she was the Associate Director of Investor Relations and Marketing at Third Point LLC, where she worked from 2007 to 2012.
Ms. O’Fallon earned an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and graduated from New York University with a B.A. in Economics.
